Agniveer Yojana Truth Exposed: Fallen Soldier Denied Military Honors, AAP Demands Justice

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has shed light on the shocking realities of the Modi government's Agniveer Yojana, revealing that a fallen soldier, Amritpal Singh, was denied military honors and martyr status.

Raghav Chadha, a senior AAP leader and MP, brought these revelations to the forefront during a press conference on October 15.

Amritpal Singh, a valiant soldier from Punjab, lost his life in the line of duty on October 11, 2023, in the Rajouri sector. However, when his mortal remains arrived at his village, Kotli Kalan, in Mansa district, they were not wrapped in the tricolor, and he was denied the customary military honors. Moreover, due to the Agniveer scheme, his family will not receive any pension.

"This is a shocking and shameful incident," Chadha said. "The BJP government is showing utter disrespect to our soldiers and their families. This is unacceptable."

In a heartfelt gesture, the AAP-led Punjab government announced a ₹1 crore honorarium and conferred the status of a martyr to Amritpal Singh. Despite the central government's oversight, the Punjab police paid their respects with state honors during his last rites.

Chadha questioned the central government's discriminatory treatment of Agniveer soldiers, stressing the need for equal recognition of their sacrifices. He condemned the rushed implementation of the Agniveer scheme, asserting that it jeopardizes the army's strength and soldiers' morale.

"The Agniveer scheme is a disaster," Chadha said. "It has been implemented without any proper planning or consideration for the well-being of our soldiers. The BJP government must immediately withdraw this scheme and ensure that our soldiers are given the respect and support they deserve."

In conclusion, Chadha highlighted the necessity of honoring soldiers, emphasizing their indispensable role in upholding the nation's integrity. He urged the BJP government to prioritize the well-being and honor of soldiers over mere symbolic gestures.

The AAP's unwavering dedication to soldier welfare was underscored by their proactive support for Amritpal Singh's family, demonstrating their commitment to valuing and upholding the sacrifices of those who serve the nation.
