The Government of India has always kept the aim of strengthening the Tourism Sector as its top notch priority. So, is depicted in the varied ways and initiatives being taken by the Government of India in its invincible ventures in the Tourism Sector.

One of the major initiatives proposed for developing the Thematic Tourism Trails across the Nation in the Budget Year - 2026-27 includes:

• Development of Mountain Trails in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir Eco & Nature Trails in Araku Valley (Eastern Ghats) and Podhigai Malai (Western Ghats).

• Developing the Turtle Trails along key nesting sites in Odisha, Karnataka and Kerala.

• Development of Bird Watching Trails at Pulicat Lake in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

• The development of 15 archaeological sites namely - Lothal, Dholavira, Rakhigarhi, Adichanallur, Sarnath, Hastinapur and Leh Palace, etc., into vibrant, experiential destinations blending conservation with visitor engagement is one of the major initiatives that will be taken-up in the Current Budget - 2026-27. It will be a real milestone in the Government of India’s commitment for transforming the Cultural Arenas of the Nation.

Alongwith this, the Tourism Tourism’s vision of fof launching a new Scheme for the Buddhist Circuits in the North-Eastern Region of the Country covering Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will boost-up the arenas of the Spiritual Tourism Sectors in the States.

Besides this, the Tourism Budget - 2026-2027 hs much more key initiatives lined-up in its bucket that includes:

• Providing I.I.M.-led World-Class Training to around 10,000 Tour Guides.

• Transforming National Council for Hotel Management into National Institute of Hospitality.

• Development of 5 Regional Medical Tourism Hubs & Global Big Cat Summit for boosting-up the Niche Tourism.

The recent Toruism Budget - 2026-27 is indeed a mark that the Country is ready towards transfporming its Tourism Sector!
