8 Workers Killed in Massive Blaze at Chemical Factory in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi
Fire at Khuskheda Industrial Area leaves eight dead, several injured; probe underway into possible chemical reaction or short circuit as safety lapses come under scrutiny.
A fire broke out at a chemical factory in the Khuskheda Karauli Industrial Area in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, on Monday. The blaze was so devastating that eight workers were burned alive. Authorities have retrieved all the bodies, while two workers are feared to be trapped inside. Around 25 workers were working at the factory at the time of the accident.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Monday. According to ADM Sumita Mishra, police patrolling the factory noticed smoke rising from the factory. Upon receiving the information, police and administrative teams arrived at the scene and immediately launched a rescue operation.
Fire engines from RIICO's Khuskheda and Bhiwadi fire stations were dispatched to control the fire. After approximately one and a half hours of intense effort, the fire was brought under control. After the fire was extinguished, the bodies of seven workers were recovered from inside.
Tijara DSP Shivraj Singh was also present at the scene and has launched an investigation. The preliminary investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire. It is suspected that the fire may have been caused by a chemical reaction or a short circuit, although official confirmation will only be available after the investigation report.
The administration has sent the injured to the hospital and is questioning the factory management. Following this tragic accident, an atmosphere of grief and anger has gripped the area. Locals are raising questions about the neglect of safety standards in industrial areas.
