Security agencies were put on high alert on Friday after a bomb threat was issued against the Bihar Legislative Assembly complex in Patna via email.

According to officials, the threat claimed that an explosive device had been planted inside the Assembly premises and could be detonated. Following the alert, police teams, along with bomb disposal and dog squads, were immediately deployed to the site to carry out thorough checks.

Secretariat-1 Sub-Divisional Police Officer Anu Kumari said that the information was received through an email sent to Assembly authorities, prompting swift action to secure the complex. The entire परिसर was cordoned off, and intensive search operations were conducted both inside and outside the building.

Security has also been heightened on all approach roads leading to the Assembly, while entry of outsiders has been restricted as a precautionary measure. Officials stated that the situation remains under control, with no suspicious object found so far.

Meanwhile, cyber cell teams have begun efforts to trace the origin of the email by tracking its IP address. Investigators are working to identify the sender and determine whether the threat is credible or a hoax.

This is not the first such incident involving the Assembly. A similar threat was reported on March 13, which was later declared a hoax after detailed जांच. Authorities said the current threat is being taken seriously to avoid any security lapse.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure safety.
