Kumar Ravi Launches Training Drive to Ensure Quality Block-Cum-Circle Office Construction in Bihar
Building Construction Department trains engineers and contractors in Patna, warns of strict action over delays or substandard work
The Building Construction Department launched a two-day training program today at the Convention Hall in Patna to ensure the high-quality construction of block-cum-circle office buildings. All engineers, contractors, and their site engineers from the North Bihar sub-division participated in today's training program.
*The training program was inaugurated by Mr. Kumar Ravi, Secretary of the Building Construction Department. Addressing all the engineers, contractors, and their site engineers, he instructed them to adhere to technical standards and ensure quality construction in the building of block-cum-circle office buildings. He clearly instructed the engineers and contractors to complete the projects on time and with high quality. Strict action will be taken in case of any negligence in the construction work.*
He emphasized the mandatory presence of a site engineer at each project site to ensure the quality construction of the block-cum-circle office buildings. Similar training programs will be organized for engineers and contractors in the future.
Following this, in various training sessions, senior officers and engineers of the department provided guidance on several important topics related to the architectural and structural design, electrical fittings, work execution, and quality control of block-cum-circle office buildings.
This two-day training program will continue until January 11, 2026, and on the final day, engineers and contractors from the South Bihar sub-division and Patna sub-division will participate.
*The Building Construction Department is constructing new buildings for dilapidated or irreparable block-cum-circle office buildings in 240 blocks across the state. Additionally, construction of block-cum-circle office and residential complex buildings and development of the premises are being undertaken in 59 blocks that currently lack such facilities.* An amount of Rs. 30,74,17,000 per block has been sanctioned for the construction of block-cum-circle office and residential complexes, and Rs. 16,62,10,000 per block for the construction of new block-cum-circle office buildings in place of the old ones. *The administrative building (G+2) of the Block-cum-Circle Office will house the offices of the Block Development Officer and Circle Officer, along with other block-level officers, a modern conference hall, an RTPS counter, a canteen, and a record room.* The Block-cum-Circle Office-cum-residential complex will include both administrative and residential facilities. Residential accommodations will be provided for the Block Development Officer, Circle Officer, and other staff members. Solar panels will be installed on the roofs of the buildings, leading to electricity savings in the office building.
Present on this occasion were the Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, and Director of Monitoring of the department, along with all the concerned engineers, contractors, and site engineers from the North Bihar sub-division.
