NSIC Celebrates 71 Years of Service, Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening MSME Sector
Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi inaugurates 71st Foundation Day of National Small Industries Corporation; experts highlight MSMEs’ role in Atmanirbhar Bharat
The main responsibilities of preserving and promoting the traditionally and culturally rich arts and crafts antiquities of the Country have been vested on the shoulders of the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd., an Enterprise under the aegis of the Government of India. The Corporation has been influential in providing the support to the Country’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Sector on a large scale.
This Year, the Corporation marked the Celebrations of 71ST Year of its inception.
The Corporation’s 71ST Foundation Day Celebration was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi. Delivering the inaugural address, the Hon’ble Minister congratulated the Corporation on completing 71 Years of its inception. Shri Manjhi also applauded the Corporation’s inevitable contributions as a catalyst in strengthening and nurturing the Country’s vibrant Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Sectors.
Carrying out the publicity of the N.S.I.C.’s various Schemes and Programmes amongst the Entrepreneurs was also stressed by Shri Manjhi. The need for providing the comprehensive handholding support to the M.S.M.E.s, particularly, in the domains of capacity building, innovation support and digital adoption was also accentuated by the Hon’ble Minister.
The insights into the current macro-economic scenario were underlined in the Foundation Day Lecture by Prof. S. Mahendra Dev, Chairman of Economic Advisory Council of the Prime Minister. The key Policy initiatives aimed to bolster the M.S.M.E. Eco-system were also highlighted in his Foundation Day Lecture by Prof. Dev.
Dr. S.S. Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, N.S.I.C. reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment in advancing the vision of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission. The N.S.I.C.’s continuation in playing a pivotal role to enable the growth, competitiveness and resilience of M.S.M.E.s in the Country was also accentuated by Dr. Acharya.
Shri S.C.L. Das, Secretary (M.S.M.E.); Dr. Rajneesh, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (M.S.M.E.); Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary (M.S.M.E.) alongwith the other Directors of N.S.I.C., Senior Officials from the Government of India, Representatives of N.I.T.I. Aayog and Industry Associations accompanied by M.S.M.E. Entrepreneurs were also present during the Inaugural Session.
