RPO Patna to Hold Passport Adalat on March 11 to Resolve Long-Pending Applications

Over 900 applicants with passport or PCC cases pending for more than six months invited to interact directly with officials for grievance redressal.

In order to address long-pending grievances, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Patna will organize a Passport Adalat at RPO, Patna for applicants on 11th March 2026 whose Passport or Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) applications have remained pending for more than six months. More than 900 applicants whose cases have been pending for over six months have been invited to attend the Passport Adalat for resolution of their grievances.

2. During the Passport Adalat, the Regional Passport Officer, Patna, along with senior officials of the Regional Passport Office, will interact directly with applicants to not only dispose off their case, but also to get feedback on their experience on availing passport services in general in 39 Passport offices of Bihar is an attempt to make systematic improvements relating to documentation, police verification, and other procedural requirements. In instances where immediate resolution is not possible, applicants will be advised regarding the corrective measures and documentation required to expedite the processing of their applications.

3. Organizing the Passport Adalat is part of the continued effort of RPO Patna as part of citizens’ first approach inn delivering passport services under PSP of MEA. Such Adalats provide a dedicated platform for the speedy resolution of long-pending and complex passport cases through direct interaction between applicants and passport authorities. Similar Passport Adalats have also been organized earlier at the Regional Passport Office, Patna to address long-pending cases.

4. In addition to these Adalats, other Public grievance redressal mechanisms put in place by RPO, Patna are “Meet the RPO” initiative which allows applicants to directly interact with the Regional Passport Officer for resolution of complex or pending cases as well as to provide feedback on overall Passport service delivery. A specialized Public Grievance Redressal Cell, consisting of senior Passport officials, supports applicants by offering guidance on procedures and documentation, as well as addressing public grievances received through email and social media posts. To enhance accessibility, RPO Patna provides 300 enquiry appointments daily (except Wednesdays, when 25 appointments are scheduled) for applicants seeking clarification or assistance. Citizens can also avail telephonic (No. 0612-2223267) and email (rpo.patna@cpo.gov.in) enquiry services to obtain information and follow up on their passport-related queries.

Furthermore, RPO Patna actively engages with citizens through social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to disseminate important updates, share public advisories, and respond to queries in a timely manner, thereby ensuring wider outreach and improved communication with passport applicants.

5. Applicants invited to participate in the Passport Adalat are required to bring the following documents to facilitate examination of their cases:

• Copy of the email or letter sent from the Regional Passport Office, Patna requesting participation in the Passport Adalat. • File Number/Application Reference Number (ARN) issued by RPO, Patna.

• All relevant original documents pertaining to the passport or PCC application.

6. Participants are advised to report at the venue with the above documents so that their cases may be reviewed effectively. Each application will be examined individually, and applicants will be provided with appropriate guidance regarding further processing or completion of pending formalities.

7. The organization of the Passport Adalat flows from the commitment of the Regional Passport Office, Patna to provide a responsive and citizen-centric platform for addressing passport related grievances.
