UPSC CSE 2025 Results Out: AIIMS Graduate Anuj Agnihotri From Rajasthan Tops the Country
958 Candidates Selected for IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services; Rajasthan's Anuj Agnihotri Clinches AIR 1 After MBBS From AIIMS Jodhpur
The Union Public Service Commission on Thursday released the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025, with Anuj Agnihotri from Rawatbhata in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district securing All India Rank 1 — becoming the country's top civil servant-elect after an inspiring journey from medicine to administration. A total of 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment across the IAS, IFS, IPS, and various Group A and Group B central government services.
Anuj Agnihotri's story is one of deliberate reinvention. Having completed his MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur in 2023, he pivoted to civil services preparation — relying primarily on self-study with limited resources — and has now achieved the country's highest rank in one of its most competitive examinations. His father, K.B. Agnihotri, is a scientific officer at the Rajasthan Nuclear Power Plant, and his mother, Manju Agnihotri, is a homemaker. Last year's top ranker was Shakti Dubey from Prayagraj.
Of the 1,087 posts announced for recruitment this year, 180 are for the Indian Administrative Service, 55 for the Indian Foreign Service, and 150 for the Indian Police Service, with the remaining posts distributed across other Group A and Group B central services. The Mains examination was conducted between December 2025 and February 2026, with 2,736 candidates appearing. Following the final selection process, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment. The candidacy of some candidates remains provisional, and the results of two candidates have been withheld pending a court case.
