Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed that he has undergone treatment for skin cancer. On Saturday, the 58-year-old shared a photo on Instagram showing a stitched-up area just below his ear, while also urging his followers to take sun protection seriously.

"Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their quick work in removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you! Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend, I promise it’s not a facelift—I'd need a refund for that!" Ramsay wrote, adding a touch of humor.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer, typically caused by sun exposure. According to the National Institutes of Health, BCC is a slow-growing tumor that rarely spreads to other parts of the body.

Following Ramsay’s post, fans flooded the comments with supportive messages. TV judge Robert Rinder shared a heart emoji, and his daughter, Holly Ramsay, wrote, "Love you, Dad."

Cancer Research UK also commented on the post, praising Ramsay for raising awareness. "Glad to hear you're doing well, Gordon, and thanks for highlighting how important it is to stay safe in the sun. Seek shade, cover up, and apply sunscreen regularly and generously," the organization said.

Many followers applauded the chef for using his platform to spread awareness about the importance of sunscreen.

This health update comes over a year after Ramsay was hospitalized following a bike accident. In June 2024, he reassured fans that while he hadn’t broken any bones, he was bruised and looked "like a purple potato." Last December, he shared that his bruising had healed, along with a video montage showing his injuries from the accident.
