Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, in a rare diplomatic gesture, drove Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his car to Jordan Museum and accompanied him during the visit to the Museum, which documents the story of Jordan's ancient civilizations and the Kingdom's cultural and historical heritage.

PM Modi posted pictures of himself sitting next to the 31-year-old Crown Prince in the latter’s BMW car, with the caption: “On the way to The Jordan Museum with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II.”

During a tour of the museum, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Modi listened to an explanation given by Princess Sumaya bint Al Hassan, Vice Chairwoman of the Museum's Board of Trustees, about the exhibition "Jordan, Land of Innovation, Continuity and Change."

The exhibition tells the story of the Jordanian person who developed creative solutions to the most prominent challenges he faced throughout the ages, which are the need for water, food, energy and communication.

The tour included an introductory explanation of the Ain Ghazal statues, which were discovered in Jordan and date back to approximately 10 thousand years BC. The Ain Ghazal statues are large-scale lime plaster and reed statues discovered at the archaeological site of ʿAin Ghazal in Amman, Jordan.

During a bilateral meeting between the two sides on the sidelines of the museum visit, the two leaders emphasised keenness to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.

The initiatives and projects of the National Center for Future Technology were also highlighted, and prospects for cooperation in the fields of technical and vocational education and training and technology were discussed.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister Modi wrote some words in the museum's register of distinguished visitors.

The Jordan Museum documents the Kingdom's role in preserving the legacy of successive civilizations, and constitutes a reference for ideas, knowledge and culture.

Later, the Crown Prince bid farewell to the Prime Minister Modi at Queen Alia International Airport upon his departure from the Kingdom.

PM Modi said in a post on X, that his visit to Jordan has been immensely productive, and thanked the Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II for coming to the airport to see him off.

“My visit to Jordan has been immensely productive. I thank His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan for their exceptional friendship.

“Our discussions have strengthened the India-Jordan partnership across key areas such as renewable energy, water management, digital transformation, cultural exchanges and heritage cooperation. The outcomes we have achieved together will open new avenues for progress and prosperity for our citizens.

“Am also thankful to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II for coming to the airport as I leave Jordan.”

PM Modi left for Ethiopia, on the second leg of his three-nation tour.
