Born on October 7, 1967, Maria Corina Machado is an industrial engineer by training and currently leads the opposition party Vente Venezuela. Before entering politics, she was a founding member of Súmate, a well-known civil society NGO that played a key role in encouraging voter participation and promoting democratic values in Venezuela.
Machado’s political journey gained momentum with the formation of Vente Venezuela in 2013, a liberal political party focused on advocating for democracy and human rights.
