Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, expressing deep concern over the recent Israeli strikes in Doha. The conversation comes amid rising tensions in the region, with Qatar becoming an unexpected flashpoint in the ongoing conflict.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi condemned the attacks and strongly criticised the violation of Qatar's sovereignty. “Spoke with Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and expressed deep concern at the attacks in Doha. India condemns the violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly State of Qatar,” he wrote.

The Prime Minister stressed the urgent need for dialogue and diplomacy, calling on all parties to avoid further escalation. He reiterated India’s consistent stance on promoting peace and stability in the region, while also standing firmly against terrorism in all its forms.

“India stands firmly in support of peace and stability in the region, and against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” he added.

Modi’s remarks reflect New Delhi’s diplomatic balancing act in the Middle East, where it maintains strong ties with both Arab nations and Israel. The statement also highlights India’s growing voice in global peace efforts.
