Any kind of conflict cannot be ruled out", Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Rajnath Singh, the Union Defence Minister, on Tuesday said that the possibility of any kind of conflict cannot be ruled out in today's uncertain environment. Singh said this after virtually dedicating twenty-four bridges and three roads that were built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in four states and two Union Territories. Singh said "In the present uncertain environment, the possibility of any kind of conflict cannot be ruled out. Such situations motivate us even more for the development of these (border) areas. It is a matter of pride that we have BRO for cooperation in the development of these areas, as an efficient and dedicated organization." The Defence Minister further added "There are some special needs which need to be taken care of in the process of developing border areas, we paid attention to those needs and worked on them at the ground level. We saw that capital infusion is needed in these areas, which cannot be possible without connectivity." Out of 27 projects, 24 are bridges, of which nine are in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), five each in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, three in Uttarakhand, and one each in Sikkim and North-Eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. Of the three roads that Rajnath Singh dedicated to the Nation, two are in the Union Territory of Ladakh and one is in the state of West Bengal. Singh also stressed on the importance of connectivity and roads in the process of Nation Building and bringing communities together. He also applauded and praised the efforts of BRO's initiatives.
