CBI Exposes Bribery Scandals: Deputy Manager and Sanitary Inspector Arrested in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken decisive action, arresting a Deputy Manager from Verka Dairy Plant, Mohali (Punjab), and a Sanitary Inspector from Cantonment Board, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), in separate bribery cases.

Deputy Manager from Verka Dairy Plant Nabbed for Bribery:

In a startling revelation, the CBI apprehended a Deputy Manager (Production) at Verka Dairy Plant, Mohali, accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000 from a distressed complainant. The complainant, operating a firm in Chandigarh, faced harassment and threats to cancel a contract awarded for providing manpower and security to Verka Plant (Milkfed), Mohali. The accused allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 15,000 per month for the next 4-5 months, threatening contract cancellation. After negotiations, the accused agreed to accept Rs. 30,000. The CBI swiftly intervened, catching the accused red-handed during the act. Searches at the accused's premises in Mohali and Patiala led to the recovery of incriminating documents. The accused now faces 14 days of Judicial Custody after appearing before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Chandigarh.

Sanitary Inspector from Cantonment Board Apprehended for Bribery:

In another case, the CBI arrested a Sanitary Inspector from Cantonment Board, Meerut, accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000. The case unfolded from allegations of demanding Rs. 25,000 to allow the continuation of reconstruction of the complainant’s three shops in Cantonment Board, Meerut. Both accused, working at the office of CEO, Cantonment Board, Meerut, demanded the bribe for the construction project. The CBI executed a successful trap, catching the Sanitary Inspector red-handed during the act. Searches at the premises of both accused followed. The arrested individual has been sent to Judicial Custody till 30.11.2023, following a court appearance before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad.

As investigations into both cases continue, the CBI remains committed to combating corruption and ensuring justice prevails.
