The Important Role of Educational Institutions and Media in Promoting Legal Education: Vijay Gau
New Delhi: Vijay Gaur, President of Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti and Bureau Chief of illustrated daily news, honored the winners of the National Teacher Award at K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana.
On a special invitation, Vijay Gaur attended the event, recognizing the contributions of K.R. Mangalam University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Raghuveer Singh, Dean of the School of Legal Studies, Professor Inderpreet Kaur and Dr. Neeraj Kumari, Programme Coordinator of the National Service Scheme.
Addressing the gathering on Teacher's Day, Vijay Gaur stated that violence against women obstructs equality, development, peace, and human rights for women and girls. He emphasized that achieving sustainable development goals requires eliminating violence against women and girls.
"Legal education is a powerful means of women's empowerment," Gaur asserted. "Educational institutions and media play a crucial role in promoting legal education." He urged institutions across the country to join the Samiti 's movement against violence towards women.
Gaur stressed that the campaign against violence towards women should start within homes and families. "The day even one family member becomes aware and files a police complaint against violence towards women in their household, the campaign will gain momentum," he said.
The programme saw the esteemed presence of Dr. Mehraj Uddin Mir, former Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University and Chair Professor at K.R. Mangalam University; Dr. Rahul Sharma, Registrar; Dr. Shikha Datt Sharma, IQAC Coordinator; Thomas Monteiro; Dr. Amit Kumar, Programme Officer of the National Service Scheme; Dr. Sapna Rana, Member of the National Service Scheme; and other faculty members.
The active involvement of NSS volunteers from the National Service Scheme was instrumental in organizing the event.
