Vidya Bharati Bhawan Inaugurated in Delhi: Dharmendra Pradhan Calls It Key to Value-Based Education

The central office of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, ‘Vidya Bharati Bhawan’, was ceremoniously inaugurated today, April 2, 2026, with traditional Vedic rituals. This historic occasion marks a significant milestone in strengthening the vision of value-based education, cultural preservation, and nation-building rooted in Indian ethos.



The dignified ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, senior RSS pracharak and Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini member Shri Suresh Soni, Akhil Bharatiya President of Vidya Bharati Dr. Ravindra Kanhere, Pujya Anandamurti Guru Maa (Ganaur, Haryana), Akhil Bharatiya General Secretary Shri Deshraj Sharma, Organising Secretary Shri Govind Mahant, Co-Organising Secretaries Shri Yatindra Ji and Shri Ram Avralkar, Higher Education Organising Secretary Shri Raghunandan Ji, along with several national, regional, and state-level office bearers, management committee members, acharyas, and distinguished guests from across the country.

The day commenced with a sacred havan and formal inauguration ceremony at the newly constructed central office located at Deendayal Upadhyay Marg. This was followed by a grand cultural and main stage programme at Bal Bhavan, which began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati.


Students from Vidya Bharati Delhi Prant presented captivating performances, including classical dance, a theatrical presentation based on the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, group songs, and folk dances—beautifully reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and spirit of nationalism.

In his welcome address, Akhil Bharatiya General Secretary Shri Deshraj Sharma highlighted that Vidya Bharati has evolved into one of the world’s largest educational organizations. He emphasized that education is not merely about acquiring knowledge but about connecting individuals with their roots, culture, and traditions. He also mentioned Vidya Bharati’s proactive role in implementing the National Education Policy and its initiatives towards strengthening digital infrastructure, including plans to launch a television channel in the future.

Chief Guest Shri Dharmendra Pradhan described Vidya Bharati as a significant “reference point” in the fields of education, language, and skill development. He stated that several provisions of the National Education Policy—such as mother tongue-based education, bagless days, teacher training, and skill development—have been inspired by Vidya Bharati’s pioneering efforts.

Pujya Anandamurti Guru Maa appreciated the organization’s work in remote, border, and Naxal-affected areas, describing it as a meaningful contribution to nation-building. She expressed confidence that the new central office would further accelerate the organization’s mission.

Shri Suresh Soni, in his address, stated that while Vidya Bharati has gained wide social acceptance, much work still remains in the field of education. He emphasized the importance of emotional, humane, and value-based development alongside physical infrastructure, especially in the context of building a developed India by 2047.


Vidya Bharati today stands as one of the largest non-governmental educational organizations in India, operating in 684 districts with over 24,000 formal schools, 59 colleges, and 2 universities. Approximately 3.3 million students and 150,000 acharyas are part of this network. Additionally, through more than 10,000 Ekal Vidyalayas and Sanskar Kendras in rural, tribal, and underserved areas, education is reaching over 250,000 students. Across 11 regions and 46 provincial committees, more than 28 educational projects are being implemented with a focus on mother tongue-based, value-oriented, and nation-centric education.

On this occasion, architects, engineers, contractors, and dedicated contributors associated with the construction of Vidya Bharati Bhawan were also honoured.

The event witnessed the presence of Vidya Bharati Delhi Prant’s management committee members and the entire school fraternity—including presidents, principals, teachers, former teachers, alumni, Matri Bharati members, and parents—in large numbers. The entire programme was imbued with a spirit of patriotism, values, and service.

In his concluding remarks, Akhil Bharatiya President Dr. Ravindra Kanhere delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all esteemed guests and congratulating the dedicated workers of Vidya Bharati Delhi Prant for successfully organizing the event.
