Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Unveils RO Plants to Provide Purified Water to Residents

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently inspected newly installed Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the Mayapuri area and announced a significant initiative to ensure access to clean drinking water for all residents. Each person in areas with inadequate drinking water facilities will now receive 20 liters of purified water daily, thanks to the establishment of water ATMs.

During his inspection, Kejriwal highlighted that the Delhi government has already set up four water ATMs in the Mayapuri area, with plans to install 500 more across slums and densely populated regions. These water ATMs utilize the RO process to treat water drawn from tube wells, providing safe and purified drinking water to the citizens.

The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to address the issue of contaminated water supply in various parts of the national capital. Earlier this year, he directed the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to take immediate action to resolve the problem and ensure clean drinking water for all residents. As part of this initiative, RO-based purification plants were set up in 20 slum clusters across Delhi to tackle the water contamination issue effectively.

Kejriwal emphasized that this effort aims to bridge the gap in access to clean water between different sections of society. While affluent households often install RO systems at home, the government's initiative ensures that even economically disadvantaged communities can access the same high-quality purified water.

The strategically placed water ATMs will benefit slums and densely populated areas where laying pipelines for water supply is not feasible. By treating water at the RO plants before distribution, the Delhi government aims to provide a sustainable and reliable solution to the long-standing issue of inadequate drinking water facilities in certain regions.

In conclusion, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's commitment to resolving the contaminated water problem in the city has led to the installation of RO plants and water ATMs in various areas, ensuring that each resident receives 20 liters of purified water daily. This initiative is a significant step towards providing equitable access to clean drinking water for all Delhiites, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
