Apoorva Mukhija hits back at Sudhanshu Pandey’s ‘misogynistic’ comments, saying he spoke more about her outside the show than during The Traitors

Karan Johar’s reality game show The Traitors wrapped up on July 3, with Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther emerging as the winners. The show was packed with drama, including Uorfi’s heated clash with Apoorva Mukhija and a verbal spat between Raftaar and Sufi Motiwala. One of the contestants, Sudhanshu Pandey, repeatedly criticised Apoorva for her use of abusive language and her behavior towards others on the show.

In a recent interview with Screen, Apoorva responded to Sudhanshu’s comments, saying,

“Sudhanshu ji spoke more outside the show than during the game. I even messaged him reminding him that he called me ‘his child,’ so he could have reached out privately instead of speaking publicly. I’m sorry if he felt that way, but I can’t clarify everything that’s said about me on the internet.”

She also called him misogynistic, adding,

“He said in an interview that there’s a difference between boys and girls, but today girls think they can live like boys. That’s rooted more in misogyny than moral policing. I’ve done everything on my own. People have only picked clips of one thing — so why me? He could have talked about the game instead.”

From the start, Apoorva was known for her bold personality and strategic gameplay, while Sudhanshu mostly kept quiet but performed well in the challenges. Both were part of the ‘innocents’ group. Sudhanshu made it to the finale but was eliminated by Harsh Gujral, Uorfi, and Nikita in the final round. Apoorva was evicted just a day before the finale, much to the disappointment of many fans.

In recent interviews, Sudhanshu criticised Apoorva for her abusive language and disrespect towards others. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, he said,

“We live in a very civilized society, especially in India, where we’ve grown up with defined values—sanskaar. These values shape our culture, traditions, and relationships with family and friends. It’s important to understand and respect them.”

The show featured 20 contestants — actors, influencers, YouTubers, and more — divided into two teams: innocents and traitors. Hosted by Karan Johar, the 10-episode series is available to stream on Prime Video. Uorfi and Nikita won the prize money of ₹70.5 lakh. During the finale, Karan Johar also confirmed that the show will return for a second season.
