Bollywood Icon Dharmendra Passes Away; Film Fraternity Mourns the Loss of a Legend

The demise of Bollywood legend Dharmendra on Monday cast a sombre shadow over the Hindi film industry, as actors and filmmakers remembered a man whose influence spanned generations.
Shedding tears, Dharmendra's colleagues and juniors took to social media to bid him their last farewell.
Filmmaker Karan Johar on his Instagram account described Dharmendra's death as the end of an era, calling him a megastar who epitomised the heroic charm of mainstream Indian media. Johar further stated that the late star is and will always be a "bona fide legend of Indian Cinema", a defining source and richly present in the pages of cinema history, "but mostly he was the best human being".
Actress Kajol took to her official Instagram page and shared a photo of him captioned "The OG of the Good Man is gone, and the world is poorer for it...somehow it seems like we are only losing the good people in it. Kind to the core and loved always. RIP Dharamji...with love always."
Akshay Kumar took to X and shared a photo from his young days along with Dharmendra. The caption read, "Growing up, Dharmendra ji was the hero every boy wanted to be… our industry’s original He-Man. Thank you for inspiring generations. You’ll live on through your films and the love you spread. Om Shanti."
Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen offered a deeply emotional tribute, sharing a throwback picture and celebrating both the legend and the extraordinary man she knew off-screen. She remembered him as an incredible human being and how he touched lives like a blessing.
She added that only a few people leave the world “more beautiful than the way they found it,” and said she felt grateful to have seen Dharmendra’s grace in person.
Sanjay Dutt posted on Instagram: "Some people don’t just work in your life… they live in your heart. Dharam ji was one of them. It’s a void that can’t be described. My thoughts are with Sunny, Bobby, and the entire family…"
