BTS Announces Comeback Album 'Arirang' with Global Livestream and Netflix Documentary

BTS is preparing for their highly anticipated return, announcing a new album titled "Arirang" releasing March 20, accompanied by a global livestream performance and Netflix documentary chronicling their reunion.
The announcement marks the supergroup's first studio album since 2020's "Map of the Soul: 7," ending a nearly five-year gap that saw members complete mandatory military service.
"BTS the Comeback Live | Arirang" will broadcast from Gwanghwamun in Seoul on March 21 at 7 AM ET, celebrating the album's release. The iconic location in the heart of South Korea's capital provides a symbolic backdrop for the group's return.
The album takes its name from a traditional Korean folk song renowned both domestically and internationally, signaling the group's connection to their cultural roots.
"BTS: The Return," directed by Bao Nguyen, debuts on Netflix on March 27. The documentary follows members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook as they reunite in Los Angeles to create new music.
A press release describes the film as "a portrait of resilience, brotherhood, and reinvention," exploring how the group navigates "how to begin again, how to honor the past without being bound by it, and how to move forward together."
BTS will launch a world tour in support of Arirang, running from April 2025 through March 2027. The trek kicks off in Goyang, South Korea, on April 9.
Tokyo, Mexico City, Las Vegas, Busan, London, Paris, Chicago, Toronto, Sydney, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Manila—with multiple nights planned in each city.
The extensive schedule promises to bring the reunited septet to fans across four continents over nearly two years.
