FIR Filed Against Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone in Hyundai Fraud Case

Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have been named in an FIR filed in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, in connection with an alleged fraud case involving Hyundai Motors. The complaint also includes six company officials, all accused in a case related to a car that reportedly had serious manufacturing defects. Both actors are brand ambassadors for the automobile company.
According to a report by Bhaskar English, the case stems from a complaint by local resident Kirti Singh, who said he purchased a Hyundai Alcazar SUV in 2022 for over ₹23 lakh. Singh alleged that the vehicle started showing major technical issues just months after the purchase and that repeated attempts to get the company to fix the problems were ignored.
When local police initially refused to register the complaint, Singh approached the court. Acting on the court's direction, the Mathura Gate police station filed the FIR on August 25. Charges were registered under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 120B (criminal conspiracy), along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The complaint names Hyundai India’s top executives, including MD Anso Kim (Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu), COO Tarun Garg (Gurugram, Haryana), and Malwa Auto Sales Pvt. Ltd. MD Nitin Sharma and Director Priyanka Sharma (Sonipat, Haryana).
Singh also named Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, alleging that their endorsements influenced his decision to buy the car. He claims they promoted a faulty product and misled consumers by supporting the brand.
As of now, neither Shah Rukh nor Deepika's teams have issued a statement in response to the FIR.
**On the work front:**
