Housefull 5 crosses ₹200 crore worldwide in 8 days, surpassing Sikandar’s box office collections

Tarun Mansukhani’s comedy murder mystery Housefull 5 has been a blockbuster hit, smashing records and crossing the ₹200 crore mark worldwide in just 8 days. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Soundarya Sharma, has raked in ₹212.76 crore globally since its release last Friday, according to the makers.
Released on June 6, Housefull 5 quickly became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. It has earned ₹140.18 crore net in India and ₹212.76 crore worldwide in just over a week. On its opening day, the movie collected ₹24.35 crore net domestically and ₹11.11 crore worldwide. By the following Friday, it continued its strong run with ₹6.60 crore in India and ₹2.35 crore globally. Trade site Sacnilk reported a total of ₹133.25 crore net in India and ₹204 crore worldwide.
In just its first week, Housefull 5 surpassed Salman Khan’s Sikandar’s lifetime collections of ₹184.6 crore. It’s now set to challenge bigger lifetime hits like Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (₹234.9 crore), Mohanlal’s Thudarum (₹234.5 crore), Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam (₹255 crore), and Mohanlal’s L2 Empuraan (₹265.5 crore). However, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava remains the top grosser this year with ₹807.88 crore.
