Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Takes Legal Action Against Extortion Attempts Targeting Their Films

Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE) has taken a strong stand to protect its creative work and reputation by initiating legal action against individuals allegedly attempting to extort money by threatening to tarnish the image of their films, directors, and lead actors. The production house revealed the situation in an official statement shared on social media on Monday.
According to NGE, they came across credible evidence—including call recordings—that showed certain individuals were demanding payments in exchange for refraining from posting negative content about their projects online. The company clarified that these threats were not about genuine criticism but were clearly coercive attempts to intimidate and manipulate.
“We recently came across evidence—including call recordings—indicating that a few individuals were demanding money and threatening to malign the reputation of our films, directors, and lead actors if their demands were not met. We believe such behaviour warrants investigation by the appropriate authorities,” the statement said.
In response, NGE has handed over the matter to investigative agencies for further action. However, the production house was careful to clarify that their legal move is not aimed at honest reviewers, independent critics, or genuine voices within the film community.
“We want to emphasize that these actions are directed solely at those involved in malicious practices and not at any sincere, independent reviewers or YouTubers. We value honest criticism and welcome it as it contributes to the healthy growth of the film industry,” the statement added.
Highlighting their commitment to the Indian film industry, NGE reaffirmed their support for free speech and open dialogue. “We are strong supporters of freedom of speech and expression as guaranteed by the Constitution of India. We have never objected—and will never object—to fair criticism or reviews. Constructive feedback helps filmmakers improve and promotes the overall development of the industry,” they said.
In 2025, NGE has been busy releasing films across different genres. Their current release, Baaghi 4, is an action thriller featuring Tiger Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa, and Harnaaz Sandhu, directed by A. Harsha.
They also released Housefull 5, the latest installment in the popular comedy franchise, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh. Another recent release is Sikandar, an action drama starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, directed by A.R. Murugadoss.
Looking ahead, NGE is set to release O'Romeo, an action-drama directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, starring Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Nana Patekar. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Valentine’s Day next year.
