Rajpal Yadav Released from Tihar Jail on Interim Bail After 12 Days

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav was released from Tihar Jail on interim bail on February 17 after spending approximately 12 days in custody. He had surrendered on February 5 due to his inability to repay a loan amount in a cheque bounce case.

The Delhi High Court granted him bail until March 18 to attend his niece's wedding.

Sharing his experience in an interview with India TV, Rajpal spoke positively about the facility while highlighting concerns about inmates' rehabilitation.

"Tihar Jail is well-managed. It has a long history. The food there was excellent," the actor said.

Rajpal made an emotional appeal to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta regarding prison reform.

"Less than 10 percent of inmates in jail get a second chance," he observed. "I would like to appeal to her to do something for some of the people in jail, because one mistake can be overlooked."

He added: "Although I fully respect the judiciary and its decisions, it would be great if we could do something for them."

The actor explained that while he works in the entertainment industry where money is made, he considers himself a farmer's son at heart. "Acting is my passion, which is why I am in this industry," he said.

The film industry rallied behind Rajpal during his difficult time. Stars including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Sonu Sood, Guru Randhawa, Rao Inderjit Singh, and Varun Dhawan pledged financial support to help the actor.

Rajpal's family, manager, and wife Radha expressed heartfelt gratitude for the industry's support.

However, the actor's legal troubles are far from over, with his interim bail valid only until March 18.
