Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Teases Epic Showdown with Motion Poster Featuring Yash as Ravana

The buzz around Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated Ramayana just got louder. On Saturday, the makers unveiled a striking motion poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as the formidable Ravana, setting the stage for what promises to be a grand cinematic showdown.
Though the motion poster offers only animated glimpses of the characters, the tone is unmistakably epic — thanks in no small part to a sweeping score composed by Oscar winners Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The film’s visual effects are being handled by DNEG, the 8-time Oscar-winning studio led by Namit Malhotra, ensuring world-class visuals for what fans are already calling a ₹5000-crore franchise in the making.
The poster was shared with the tagline:
“Rama vs. Ravana. Mortal vs. Immortal. Light vs. Darkness.”
It also confirmed that the film will be released globally across two parts — arriving around Diwali in 2026 and 2027 — under the hashtag #RamayanaByNamitMalhotra.
Excitement exploded across social media, with fans flooding platforms with reactions. “Ranbir Kapoor’s one more INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE is on the way,” wrote one user, while another called Yash “Rocking Star Yash.” A third simply said, “₹5000 cr loading.”
The hype began earlier this month when the makers dropped Ramayana: The Introduction, a teaser that opened with a powerful depiction of the cosmic trio — Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva — before introducing Ranbir as a serene and commanding Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as a radiant Sita, and Yash in a fierce, brooding look as Ravana.
Alongside the teaser, the creators shared a heartfelt note:
“Ten years of aspiration. Relentless conviction to bring the greatest epic of all time to the world... Welcome to the beginning. Let’s celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama vs. Ravana. Our Truth. Our History.”
The film’s ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Laxman, adding further star power to this ambitious retelling of the timeless epic.
With stunning visuals, a legendary story, and a dream team behind it, Ramayana is shaping up to be one of the biggest Indian films of the decade.
