Ranveer Singh Turns 40, Fans Defend Deepika Padukone Amid Social Media Silence

Actor Ranveer Singh celebrated his 40th birthday on July 6 with a special surprise for his fans — the action-packed first look of his upcoming film Dhurandhar. While the reveal generated excitement online, some Reddit users pointed out that Deepika Padukone, his wife, did not publicly wish him or react to the film’s teaser on social media.
A Reddit post speculated on Deepika’s silence, suggesting that while Ranveer is always openly supportive of her, she could “appreciate her husband a little.” This sparked a debate in the comments, with many fans coming to the couple's defence.
One fan shared a personal experience, saying, “I was very vocal on social media about my partner, but he wasn’t. Yet, he was the one who supported me financially and emotionally when I started my career. Social media doesn’t define the quality of a relationship.”
Another pointed out, “We give too much importance to celebrity social media activity. Happy couples don’t always feel the need to post everything online.”
A popular comment highlighted that Deepika typically doesn’t promote her own work or special occasions on the exact day. “She often shares birthday or anniversary posts later. What matters is that they spend these moments together. Also, this is Ranveer’s first birthday as a dad — that alone makes it extra special.”
Others echoed a similar sentiment: “People’s relationships aren’t validated by Instagram stories. Grow up!” and “The happiest and most secure people often stay away from constant social media updates. It’s usually the insecure ones who feel the need to post everything.”
Interestingly, just last week, Deepika made history by becoming the first Indian actress to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ranveer proudly shared a heartfelt tribute to her on Instagram, praising her achievements and expressing how proud he was of her.
Meanwhile, *Dhurandhar*’s first look has created a strong buzz online. The film is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, and co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. It is set to hit theatres on December 12.
