Review: Saiyaara – A Familiar Love Story with Fresh Faces and Heart

Saiyaara’s advance bookings were surprisingly strong for a film starring newcomers. Went in skeptical but came out genuinely impressed.

The movie captures the thrill and recklessness of young love—the kind that makes you feel unstoppable, even if some choices lead to regret later. Director Mohit Suri has explored this before in films like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, and here he follows a similar path but with his own twist.

The story is about Krish Kapur (Ahaan Panday), a hot-headed musician looking for his big break, and Vaani (Aneet Padda), a shy journalist healing from heartbreak. Krish discovers her diary full of heartfelt lyrics, Krish transforms them into popular songs, igniting a romance that fate quickly muddies.

Aneet brings depth and genuine chemistry, and Ahaan makes a strong debut, displaying genuine charm and intensity beyond just his family name. Particularly the title track and Tum Ho Toh, the music by Tanishk Bagchi and others is a huge plus.

Saiyaara isn’t breaking new ground, but it knows its audience and delivers a sincere, emotional love story. If you’re looking for something fresh, this might not be it—but if you want heartfelt romance with new talent and great music, Saiyaara is worth a watch.
