Shah Rukh Khan’s King Shoot Halted Again as Middle East Tensions Force Dubai Schedule Cancellation

One of the most anticipated upcoming films, King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has faced another setback as its shooting schedule has been disrupted due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East. A portion of the film, originally planned to be shot in Dubai in April, has now been cancelled, with the production team opting to shift filming to Mumbai.

According to reports, the makers had planned a desert-based action sequence in Dubai starting April 9, with preparations and necessary permissions already in place. However, due to the prevailing situation in the region and concerns over the safety of the cast and crew, the schedule was called off.

Following the change in plans, the production team has decided to recreate the desert environment on a specially constructed set in Mumbai’s Vile Parle. Director Siddharth Anand is reportedly designing the action sequences on a large scale, and the newly built set is said to offer a realistic backdrop while allowing better control over lighting and filming conditions.

This marks the second major disruption in the film’s production. Earlier, shooting had been halted in mid-2025 after Shah Rukh Khan sustained an injury during an action sequence. He subsequently travelled to the United States for treatment and resumed filming in November after a period of rest.

Despite these delays, the film remains on track for its scheduled release on December 24, 2026. King also features Suhana Khan, marking her debut alongside a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat.

While the shift to a Mumbai set ensures continuity in production, questions remain over whether the recreated environment will match the authenticity of a real desert setting. The repeated delays have also raised concerns among fans about whether the film will meet its planned release timeline.
