War 2 Advance Bookings Soar After Telugu Shows Open, Set for Grand Release on August 14

The buzz around War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is reaching a fever pitch as the film gears up for its grand theatrical release on August 14. The action-packed thriller, which will hit screens in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, has seen a massive surge in advance bookings—especially after ticket sales opened in the Telugu-speaking states.
Yash Raj Films announced the opening of advance booking this past Sunday, and while initial numbers were solid, things skyrocketed on Tuesday evening. Until then, the film had been selling about 2,500 tickets per hour. But once bookings opened in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, sales jumped to an incredible 25,000 tickets per hour. Social media was soon flooded with screenshots showing the frenzy.
Originally, pre-sales in the Telugu states were scheduled to begin on August 11 but were delayed by a day due to a pending government order related to ticket price hikes. That brief delay didn’t slow the momentum, though.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, War 2 had already clocked in around ₹10 crore in advance booking gross for its Hindi version before the Telugu shows went live. Afterward, platforms like BookMyShow saw a huge uptick, with over 20,000 tickets being sold every hour.
Hrithik returns as super spy Kabir in this sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, which co-starred Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. The new film also features Ashutosh Rana and Jr NTR in a key role, adding more firepower to the cast. War 2 is a key installment in YRF’s growing Spy Universe, which includes Pathaan, the Tiger franchise, and the upcoming Alpha starring Alia Bhatt.
With excitement building and bookings surging, War 2 is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
