Independece Day 2023: 1,800 Special Guests to Illuminate Red Fort Celebrations

As India gears up to commemorate its 75th year of Independence, a grand spectacle is set to unfold at the historic Red Fort on August 15th. Marking this momentous occasion, approximately 1,800 distinguished special guests from every corner of the nation will assemble to witness the unfurling of the national flag by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a display of unity and inclusivity, this year's Independence Day celebrations hold a distinct significance. Individuals who have made noteworthy contributions across diverse fields have been extended a special invitation to be part of this historic event. Among the esteemed invitees are Sarpanches of Vibrant Villages, teachers, nurses, farmers, fishermen, shram yogis who were instrumental in the construction of the Central Vista Project in New Delhi, workers from the khadi sector, nationally acclaimed school teachers, diligent laborers from the Border Roads Organisation, and those instrumental in the realization of the Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana Projects across various regions of the country. This collective representation of various vocations underscores the unity that has been the bedrock of India's journey over the past seven and a half decades.
Adding a touch of human interest to the festivities, two beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme (PM-KISAN) from Maharashtra will grace the occasion as special guests. A select group of 50 beneficiaries of the scheme, along with their families, will join this august gathering at the Red Fort.
