Acharya Devvrat Given Additional Charge as Maharashtra Governor After CP Radhakrishnan Becomes Vice President

Acharya Devvrat, the Governor of Gujarat, has been assigned additional charge of Maharashtra following the election of CP Radhakrishnan as the Vice President of India.

Radhakrishnan, who had been serving as Maharashtra's Governor, was elected to the Vice President’s office on September 9, defeating INDIA bloc’s candidate, former Supreme Court judge B. Sudershan Reddy, by a margin of 452 to 300 votes. He was the official nominee of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and will now occupy the second-highest constitutional post in the country.
