Alumni Network Empowers Rural Women with Sewing Machines in Bihar

Today, in Bhairoganj village of Bagaha subdivision in West Champaran, Meera Devi was given a sewing machine for self-employment. Social activist Mr. Jayesh Mangalam Singh visited the woman's village and handed over the sewing machine to Meera Devi. He praised the role of Gaurav Rai and his friends, saying, "I told Gaurav Bhaiya about this woman, who was facing difficulties in supporting her family."

Bhuvaneshwar Mishra, Deependra Singh, Rahul Gond, Satendra Thakur, Ambika Baitha, and other villagers were present on the occasion. Speaking from his bed, Gaurav Rai said that when he learned about this woman, he appealed to the alumni group for help. Soon, alumni Sanjay Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Sharad Kumar, Ranjan Rituraj, and Anand Sharma of Sir Ganesh Dutt Patliputra High School, Patna, and I arranged for a sewing machine.

Without NGOs, we strive to find those in need around us and bring about change in their lives. Many of us have never met each other—some live in Delhi, some in Chennai, some in Mumbai, or even abroad. But whenever needed, we always come together and support each other. Our combined efforts have resulted in the distribution of 249 sewing machines to those in need across Bihar, and this initiative has proven very successful in empowering women in rural areas.

Gaurav Rai, Senior General Manager Operations at a private company, stated that 25 sewing machines will soon be distributed, and women will be connected to self-employment so they can support their families well and become self-reliant. Without NGOs, we have already distributed 249 sewing machines and 308 bicycles to those in need and installed sanitary pad vending machines in 141 schools and colleges.

The safety of children is paramount, and they will be safe only when they are healthy. I appeal to you to join this campaign of mine and help such needy people on the wedding anniversary of your children and parents.
