Garg will be cremated with full state honours tomorrow. His mortal remains will be taken to Sonapur around morning.
It may be mentioned here that the Assam Government has announced a three-day mourning as tribute to Zubeen Garg, who died in Singapore on Friday, at age 52.
The Assam Government also announced two days of dry day across the state on Monday and Tuesday. The Chief Minister informed that the Meghalaya government has also decided to declare dry day, prohibiting the sale and consumption of liquor on Tuesday particularly along the Assam-Meghalaya border areas to honour the outstanding musician.
The Assam Chief Minister added that the government will videograph the whole event tomorrow.
"We have seen that a section of people are trying to create disturbance intentionally. We are not going to tolerate this. We want to bid farewell to Zubeen Garg with due respect. We understand the emotional outburst among people but if we see people trying to create disturbance, they will be taken to task by the police later," said Sarma.
The Assam Government flew the mortal remains of Zubeen Garg from Singapore which arrived in the state on Sunday. The mortal remains are being kept at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports complex since Sunday for people to pay tribute.
Garg was in Singapore for a performance at the North East Festival. His death has cast a pall of gloom across the state and country as a whole.
