Ayodhya Set to Dazzle with Record 26 Lakh Diyas for Deepotsav 2025

Ayodhya is gearing up for a grand Deepotsav 2025 as preparations enter the final stage. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is working to make this year’s celebration memorable.
Bringing the divine glory of ‘Treta Yug’ to life, the city will shine with faith, light, and innovation as it welcomes lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad.
To ensure all visitors witness the grandeur, a 3D holographic laser show and aerial drone show featuring 1,100 ‘Make in India’ drones, will be open to the public on both October 18 and 19.
These stunning displays will illuminate Ayodhya’s skyline for two evenings, offering visitors a chance to witness the divine spectacle.
The laser show will blend storytelling with technology, depicting Lord Ram’s life and ideals through lights and music along the Saryu ghats.
The drone show, a tribute to the Ramayana, will feature aerial formations like ‘Jai Shri Ram’, Lord Ram with his bow, Hanuman with the Sanjeevani mountain, Ram Setu, and the Ram Mandir.
The sequence will conclude with a formation symbolizing ‘Treta Yug to New Ayodhya,’ connecting the city’s spiritual legacy with its vibrant present.
UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said here today, “This year’s Deepotsav is a confluence of faith and technology, where tradition meets innovation. For the first time, these shows will be open to the public for two consecutive days so that every devotee and visitor can experience the divine magnificence of Ayodhya. Deepotsav 2025 will be a living reflection of devotion, heritage, and innovation.”
The Minister added that the goal is to ensure every common man who wishes to witness Ayodhya’s transformation into Treta Yug can do so in comfort and joy.
From 3D projection mapping, eco-friendly fireworks, and mass Maha Aarti to the cultural Shobhayatras, every detail is being carefully planned.
Over 26 lakh diyas will illuminate the 56 ghats of the Saryu, creating another world record.
The focus remains on public participation, safety, and sustainability—turning the city into a glowing tribute to devotion and unity.
Special Secretary (Tourism) Eesha Priya said, “This year, a renewed excitement and overwhelming interest are being seen among devotees and visitors eager to witness the Deepotsav. What’s heartening is the enthusiasm of the younger generation, especially Gen Z, who are participating in large numbers in the creative competitions we have organized, including poetry, painting, and short animation film contests. It shows how deeply the message of Deepotsav resonates with the youth.”
She added, “The response to the UPSTDC one-day Deepotsav special tour package has been extraordinary. Bookings filled up rapidly, showing how people from across the state and country are keen to be part of Ayodhya’s divine celebration this year.”
The Tourism Department, in coordination with the district administration and cultural institutions, has finalized plans for Shobhayatras depicting the seven chapters of the Ramayana, along with vibrant folk performances and thematic light installations across key heritage sites.
As Ayodhya prepares to shine in all its divine glory, Deepotsav 2025 will be a celebration of faith, creativity, and devotion, beautifully blending the past and present to touch every heart.
