Bihar Approves Rs 4,026 Crore for Marriage Mandaps in All 8,053 Gram Panchayats

Under the "Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana", marriage mandals will be constructed in all 8053 gram panchayats of the state. For this, a grant of Rs 50 lakh will be provided for each panchayat from the level of Panchayati Raj Department. The responsibility of their operation and maintenance will be done by the village level organization. For this, the cabinet has given administrative approval of Rs 40 billion 26 crore 50 lakh. This information was given by the Chief Secretary of the state Amrit Lal Meena in a press conference held in the auditorium of Information Bhawan on Tuesday. He informed that the proposal related to this was approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A total of 46 proposals were approved in this meeting.

The Chief Secretary said that in all the medical college hospitals of the state, patients and their families will be provided a plate of food from Jeevika Didi's kitchen for just Rs 20. This facility will be started from all medical college hospitals in the first phase. After this it will be expanded to all hospitals.

He said that now the power of panchayat level institutions has been expanded. Under MNREGA, now you can get work done for schemes up to Rs 10 lakh instead of Rs 5 lakh. Also, the honorarium of Panchayat level representatives has been increased by one and a half times. If a Panchayat representative dies while in office, he will also be given an ex-gratia grant of up to Rs 5 lakh. This system has been implemented in the state for the first time. Three-tier Panchayati Raj representatives will get its benefit.

Apart from this, now three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions like Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad will be able to departmentally implement schemes up to Rs 15 lakh received from the 15th Finance Commission and State Finance Commission. The Cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the amount of all six pension schemes being operated in the state under social security by two and a half times. State Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit and Additional Chief Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat Department S Siddharth were present in this press conference.

The amount of increase in social security pension will be paid from the month of June. Let us tell you that a total of six pension schemes related to social security are being operated in Bihar. Of these, three schemes are being run with the support of the central government. While three schemes are being run by the Bihar government at its own expense. The Chief Secretary said that earlier, under these pension schemes, beneficiaries were given an amount of Rs 400 to 500. Which has now been increased to Rs 1100.

The Chief Secretary said that the loan amount received by Jeevika Didi from the bank has been increased from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. They will get this loan at an interest rate of 7 percent. 1 crore 35 lakh women associated with 10 lakh 834 self-help groups will especially benefit from this. He said that in the caste-based census conducted in the state, 94 lakh such poor families were found, whose standard of living is very low. For their upliftment, the Chief Minister Laghu Udyam Yojana was started. But its implementation is getting delayed. In view of this, now the state government will provide two lakh rupees to such families, so that they can do small self-employment. For its proper monitoring, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner. This committee will monitor the speedy distribution of funds to these families.
