Bihar Cabinet Approves Formation of Cancer Care and Research Society

Health Minister Mangal Pandey has expressed happiness over the approval of the formation of Cancer Care and Research Society in the meeting of the State Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Thanking the Chief Minister, he said that under his guidance, Bihar is continuously working towards historic and far-reaching reforms in the health sector.
On this unprecedented decision of the Bihar government, Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that this new initiative is an important step towards integrating, organizing and making accessible dedicated services related to cancer in the state.
This decision of the state government has been taken to further strengthen the ever-increasing cases of cancer, increase in the number of patients being identified through screening and to further strengthen the current medical system. This will ensure timely treatment to cancer patients, awareness campaigns and concrete achievements in the field of research.
It is worth noting that Bihar Cancer Care and Research Society will work as a separate and top institution, whose objective will be to provide quick and proper treatment to the patients, run effective public awareness programs for cancer prevention, strengthen the medical system through training and research. With the formation of this institution, cancer patients will get dedicated and focused services and there will be unprecedented improvement in the quality, access and effectiveness of cancer treatment in the state
