Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Transfers Rs 271 Crore to 62 Lakh Beneficiaries Under Social Security and Kanya Utthan Schemes

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today transferred an amount of Rs 271 crore 15 lakh to the accounts of beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme and Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana through DBT from 'Sankalp' located at 1, Anne Marg. In today's program, an amount of Rs 254 crore 45 lakh 5 thousand 900 was transferred to a total of 61 lakh 29 thousand 548 beneficiaries of five social security pension schemes and an amount of Rs 16 crore 70 lakh 33 thousand was transferred to 85 thousand 556 beneficiaries of Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana, that is, a total amount of Rs 271 crore 15 lakh 38 thousand 900 was transferred to a total of 62 lakh 15 thousand 104 beneficiaries through DBT.

Addressing the program organized on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of happiness that today an amount of Rs 271,15,38,900 (two hundred seventy one crore fifteen lakh thirty eight thousand nine hundred) has been transferred to a total of 62,15,104 (sixty two lakh fifteen thousand one hundred four) beneficiaries, which includes an amount of 112.14 crores from the Central Government and 68.93 crores from the State Government under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme and Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme. Apart from this, a total amount of 90.08 crores is being given by the State Government under the schemes run by the State Government, Bihar Disability Pension Scheme, Laxmibai Social Security Pension Scheme and Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Scheme.

The Chief Minister said that under the Bihar Disability Pension Scheme, an amount of Rs. 38 crore 68 lakh 95 thousand 600 has been transferred to 9 lakh 64 thousand 220 beneficiaries by the State Government. Under the Laxmibai Social Security Pension Scheme, an amount of Rs. 34 crore 69 lakh 19 thousand 600 has been transferred to 8 lakh 63 thousand 76 beneficiaries by the State Government. Under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, an amount of Rs. 89 crore 83 lakh 43 thousand 600 has been transferred to 35 lakh 59 thousand 667 beneficiaries by the Centre and an amount of Rs. 61 crore 48 lakh 85 thousand 500 has been transferred to 35 crore 59 thousand 667 beneficiaries. Under Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, an amount of Rs. 3 crore 31 lakh 77 thousand 600 has been transferred to 1 lakh 10 thousand 583 beneficiaries by the Central Government while an amount of Rs. 1 crore 10 lakh 59 thousand 200 has been transferred by the State Government. Under Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, an amount of Rs. 18 crore 99 lakh 18 thousand 600 has been transferred to 6 lakh 32 thousand 2 beneficiaries by the Central Government and Rs. 6 crore 33 lakh 06 thousand 200 has been transferred by the State Government. That is, a total amount of Rs. 254 crore 45 lakh 5 thousand 900 has been transferred among a total of 61 lakh 29 thousand 548 beneficiaries, which includes an amount of Rs. 112 crore 14 lakh 39 thousand 800 from the Central Government and Rs. 142 crore 30 lakh 66 thousand 100 from the State Government. Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, an amount of Rs. 16 crore 70 lakh 33 thousand has been transferred by the state government to 85 thousand 556 beneficiaries. He said that the central government is also providing full support in all areas. The amount has also been provided by the central government in these schemes. People are getting the benefit of the social security pension schemes being run by the Social Welfare Department. The Social Welfare Department should inform people about all the social security pension schemes and people should continue to get its benefits.

In the program, Secretary of Social Welfare Department, Mrs. Bandana Preyashi welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a green plant.

During the program, Secretary of Social Welfare Department, Mrs. Bandana Preyashi, Director of Social Security Directorate, Mrs. Ranjita and Director of ICDS, Mr. Amit Kumar Pandey gave information about the scheme-wise achievements of the department through presentation. During this, it was informed that in the financial year 2005-06, 12 lakh 25 thousand 106 beneficiaries were being given the benefit of social security pension schemes, whereas in the financial year 2024-25, 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 beneficiaries are being given the benefit of social security pension scheme. In the financial year 2005-06, an amount of Rs 9834.32 lakh was being spent on social security pension schemes, whereas in the financial year 2024-25, an amount of Rs 524167.02 lakh is being spent.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Samrat Chaudhary, Social Welfare Minister Shri Madan Sahni, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Secretary of Social Welfare Department Mrs. Bandana Preyshi, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Kumar Ravi, Director of Social Security Directorate Mrs. Ranjita, Director of ICDS Shri Amit Kumar Pandey, Director of Directorate of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Shri Yogesh Kumar Sagar and other senior officers were present, while the District Magistrates of all the districts were connected through video conferencing.
