Bihar Energy Secretary Reviews Revenue Collection and Smart Meter Implementation

Energy Secretary and BSPHCL CMD Shri Pankaj Kumar Pal reviewed the progress of revenue collection at Vidyut Bhawan. During this, he emphasized on recovery of outstanding amount from consumers, identification of non-communicating smart meters and linking them to the bill generation process, recovery of outstanding amount from government departments, maintaining constant contact with consumers, prevention of power theft and achieving the targets of reducing AT&C loss under RDSS work. Officers from all divisions were present in the meeting.

Shri Pankaj Kumar Pal said that it is imperative to understand the problems of consumers and resolve them at a fast pace. They should also be motivated to deposit electricity bills on time by establishing continuous communication with them. For recovery from defaulting consumers, knock at every door, set up camps, do mikeing.

Shri Pal directed that under Smart Meter, verification of those premises should be done on priority, where meters are installed but they are different from the billing process. Where payment is not made, the process of line disconnection should be further expedited with the help of disconnection teams.

CMD Shri Pankaj Kumar Pal said that the work of the team and engineers will be strictly monitored from the headquarters, circle and division level so that there is no irregularity or unauthorized behavior at any level.

Managing Director of NBPDCL Dr. Nilesh Ramchandra Devre; MD of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited Shri Mahendra Kumar and Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, Senior Managers (Revenue) of both the distribution companies and officers of the zone and division were present in the meeting.
