Bihar Food Department Orders Physical Verification of Remaining Paddy to Meet CMR Target by June 15

Food and Consumer Protection Department has given directions to get the physical verification of the remaining paddy available in PACS / Trade Boards and mills done to prepare CMR equivalent to the paddy procured.
Secretary of Food and Consumer Protection Department, Mr. Md. Nayyar Iqbal has issued a letter to all the district officers of the state and has requested to get the physical verification of the remaining paddy available in PACS / Trade Boards and mills done jointly by nominating another officer of the district along with the nominated officer of Food Corporation of India to prepare CMR equivalent to the paddy procured under Kharif Marketing Season 2024-25 and provide the investigation report to the department within three working days.
The last date for obtaining CMR equivalent to the paddy procured under the state in Kharif season 2024-25 is 15.06.2025. In the Kharif marketing season 2024-25, 39.23 lakh MT of paddy has been procured against the target of 45 lakh MT for paddy procurement from farmers in the state at the minimum support price, equivalent to which 26.87 lakh MT CMR is to be obtained. So far, a total of 20.94 lakh MT CMR has been obtained. And the remaining 05.93 lakh MT CMR is to be obtained.
