Bihar Government Releases Concise Handbook on Disciplinary Proceedings

As a follow-up to the State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disciplinary procedures, a concise handbook on disciplinary action was released today.
The book was jointly unveiled by Shri Deepak Kumar, Director General-cum-Chief Enquiry Commissioner; Smt. Harjot Kaur Bamhra, Chairperson, Board of Revenue; and Dr. B. Rajender, Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration and Education Department. The release took place at the chamber of the Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, Old Secretariat, Patna.
The handbook is a shortened and user-friendly version of the comprehensive volume compiled earlier, presenting key constitutional provisions, prescribed procedures, and important judicial pronouncements related to disciplinary proceedings in a simplified format.
It was emphasized on the occasion that the Government of Bihar accords utmost importance to transparency and accountability of its officials, and this publication is a direct outcome of that commitment. The handbook is expected to help avoid procedural lapses and ensure that disciplinary action is taken in a fair, consistent, and legally sound manner.
The publication will serve as a practical reference for officers involved in disciplinary matters and further strengthen governance mechanisms in the State.
