Bihar Provides Rs 91.91 Crore Grant to 16,100 Farmers Under Private Tubewell Scheme

To realize the vision of Saat Nischay-2 "Irrigation water to every farm", the Chief Minister's Private Tubewell Scheme is being implemented by the Minor Water Resources Department. Under the scheme, farmers are being given grants for installing private tubewells. A total of 35000 private tubewells are to be installed under the scheme. Through which irrigation facility will be provided on about 175000 hectares of land.

Under the scheme, till now 23397 farmers have dug boring and uploaded their claims on the online portal, due to which irrigation capacity has been created in 116985 hectares of land. Out of which, grant of Rs 91.91 crore has been given to 16100 farmers. The process of payment of grants is in progress after conducting on-site inspection of the remaining received claims on war footing. Extensive publicity is being done by the department to get online claims from those farmers who have not submitted their claims yet, so that the target of the scheme can be achieved on time.

The farmers whose applications have been approved under the scheme can upload their claim for boring tax subsidy on mwrd.bihar.gov.in
