Bihar to Build World-Class Multipurpose Indoor Stadium in Patna for ₹21.2 Crore
Another world-class multipurpose indoor stadium is going to be constructed in Patna soon. Giving this information, Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of Bihar State Sports Authority Ravindra Shankar said that
To promote sports infrastructure in Bihar, another state-of-the-art indoor stadium is being constructed within the Patliputra Sports Complex by Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited (BSBCCL).
Spread over a built-up area of 2,877.98 square meters, the stadium will have a multipurpose hall with a height of 41 feet, designed for volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, badminton, boxing and other indoor sports. A dedicated utility building will have toilets, changing rooms, warm-up zone, administrative offices, reception area and first aid facilities.
Mr. Shankar further informed that the stadium will be constructed using prefabricated steel structures with advanced PUF-insulated roof and wall panels, which will ensure durability along with energy conservation. The stadium design incorporates green building principles including rainwater harvesting, LED lighting and sustainable HVAC systems.
The stadium will have a 25,000 sq ft wooden floor hall with state-of-the-art sound and audio video systems, broadcast-ready lighting and layered lighting.
He further said that furniture and sports equipment will be installed as per international standards. There will also be smart lighting and automation systems for energy conservation, apart from electrical substations, UPS backup and CCTV surveillance.
The project will be executed under an EPC contract, which will include everything from soil testing and structural design to construction and commissioning. All statutory approvals and structural checks will be done by the contractor, which will be supervised by IIT/NIT experts.
The total budget of this stadium project is estimated to be ₹21.2 crore, making Patna a centre of excellence for indoor sports. Apart from Rajgir Sports Academy and Stadium in Bihar, arrangement of world class indoor stadium in Patna will facilitate in organizing national and international level competitions in a better manner in Bihar.
