Bihar to Construct Municipal Administrative Buildings for 15 Urban Bodies

With the aim of making office operations smooth and systematic in the newly formed municipal bodies of the state, the Urban Development and Housing Department has started approving the plan to build administrative buildings / Nagar Sarkar Bhawan.
The department has issued an order for the construction of administrative buildings in 15 out of 120 new municipal bodies. However, this also includes three old municipal councils - Teghra, Ballia and Shivhar, which did not have their own office buildings till now.
It has been clarified in the order issued by the department that it is necessary for the municipal bodies to have a permanent office building to conduct their work in a systematic manner. The department has ordered the new municipal bodies that if the office is being operated in any other building or rented house, then new land should be selected as per the prescribed model estimate and after obtaining a no objection certificate from the circle officer, it should be made available to the department, so that the process of building construction can be started.
Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department Jivesh Kumar said that to speed up urban development, construction of permanent administrative buildings will soon be started in the new municipal bodies. He said that the new municipal bodies whose offices are running in community building, block office, on rent or in Kisan Bhawan or other building, those municipal bodies have been directed to provide proposals to the department along with details of land, Nazri map and NOC.
Apart from three Nagar Parishad, the new Nagar Panchayats in which orders have been issued for construction of administrative buildings include Akbarnagar, Pawapuri, Katoria, Sheikhopur Sarai, Parbatta, Hasanpura, Itadhi, Kako, Muraul, Ghosi, Chandi and Saraiya.
Department Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh said that for the construction of Nagar Sarkar Bhawan/Administrative Building, 16 thousand square feet of land is required for Nagar Parishad and 10,760 square feet of land is required for Nagar Panchayat. He said that the construction work for the administrative building to be built in the Nagar Panchayat area will be done at a cost of about two and a half crore (Rs 2.49 crore), while the construction work for the administrative building to be built in the Nagar Parishad will be done at a cost of about five crore (Rs 4.98 crore). All preparations have been completed for this.
