Bihar to Promote Sanskrit Education | Board Chair Mritunjay Jha Meets Info Director

Patna-Efforts to revive and popularize Sanskrit education in Bihar gained fresh momentum this week when Mritunjay Kumar Jha, Chairperson of the Bihar Sanskrit Education Board, met with Vaibhav Srivastava, Director of the state’s Information and Public Relations Department. The meeting focused on strategies to widen public awareness of Sanskrit and to showcase the board’s upcoming initiatives.
During the discussion, Jha emphasized that spreading awareness among the public is essential to make Sanskrit education initiatives successful. “The board’s proposed innovations and projects can only achieve their full potential if people across the state are well informed,” he said, highlighting the importance of support from the Information and Public Relations Department.
Srivastava assured the department’s full cooperation, announcing plans to produce a short documentary that will highlight the board’s work and the growing scope of Sanskrit education in Bihar. “We have already received a formal request from the board, and the process for creating this film will begin immediately,” he confirmed.
The meeting also covered detailed plans for promoting new programs and innovations related to Sanskrit learning. Srivastava expressed confidence that the state government’s outreach efforts will help build public interest, encouraging greater participation from students and schools alike.
Jha urged the department to actively publicize the board’s events and initiatives so that they reach a wider audience. Both officials agreed that coordinated communication efforts could significantly accelerate the spread of Sanskrit education across Bihar.
Observers say the collaboration marks an important step in the state government’s campaign to preserve and promote one of India’s oldest languages, aiming to make Sanskrit more accessible and appealing to younger generations.
