Bihar’s AI Showcase at India AI Impact Summit Draws Global Attention; Ashwini Vaishnaw Praises E-Voting Innovation

While making significant contributions to the nation's development, Bihar has also established itself strongly in the world of technology. The Bihar Pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, has become a center of attraction not only for participants from the country's developed states but also for tech experts from around the world. The world is amazed by the glimpses of AI use showcased here.

On Saturday, on the closing day of the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026, Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, Honorable Minister of the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, visited the Bihar Pavilion.

During his visit, the Honorable Minister commended the AI-enabled electoral innovations showcased by the State Election Commission of Bihar. Among these innovations, the secure e-voting solution and citizen-centric mobile applications were particularly noteworthy.

He stated that a technology-based, transparent, and secure electoral system is an important step towards strengthening democracy. The digital initiatives presented by Bihar clearly demonstrate the state's commitment to making democratic processes more effective and participatory through good governance and technological innovation.

The scope of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer limited to technology; it is revolutionizing India's infrastructure. Mahesh, who traveled from California, USA, to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026, discussed in detail the future of AI in various sectors and its social impact. Mahesh hails from Navgachhiya, Bihar, and was born and educated in Bihar. The Bihar government signed an MoU with his company, Tiger Analytics, last Tuesday. He stated that through AI, Bihar is poised for significant change, primarily in the fields of agriculture, health, and education.

Bihar's farmers will now embrace "smart farming"

Mahesh explains that Bihar is now moving towards "smart farming" for agriculture. AI is emerging as a digital advisor for farmers. Through sensors and satellite data, farmers will be able to monitor soil moisture, nutrients, and crop health in real time. AI chatbots and mobile apps like Kisan e-Mitra are identifying crop diseases through photos and suggesting solutions. Furthermore, AI-based models provide accurate weather forecasts and help farmers improve their income by predicting market prices.

AI will diagnose and treat diseases

Similarly, in the healthcare sector, AI is bridging the gap between hospitals and the lack of facilities to achieve "treatment at every doorstep." For quicker treatment, devices like X-rays and CT scans can now be analyzed in seconds to detect diseases like tuberculosis and lung cancer. Similarly, AI-powered stethoscopes and thermal imaging are enabling early detection of heart disease and breast cancer in rural areas.

AI will enhance student learning

Another participant, Deepak, explains that AI is transforming the education sector by tailoring learning to each student's learning capacity. He stated that 10,000 to 20,000 students from engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes in Bihar will be trained in AI. They will be provided internships to prepare them for the use of AI in agriculture, health, and education.

Multilingual Robot to Answer Your Questions in Any Language

The multilingual robot at the Bihar Pavilion is a major attraction. This robot can be used as a receptionist at railway stations, airports, or hotels. It can speak any language and answer all questions from its users in their own language. The Bihar Pavilion also features AI resources capable of cleaning garbage and large drains without human intervention.

Modernizing Democracy

Officials from the Bihar government's Election Department, present at the Bihar Pavilion, explained the use of AI to ensure the biggest festival of democracy: elections, is completely fair and explained that many allegations and counter-allegations regarding the counting of votes will soon be resolved. Giving details about the use of AI in vote counting, he said that Bihar is ready to use AI to ensure fair counting. Through AI, all information inside the counting site can be seen by people standing outside the counting site. Furthermore, AI-based surveillance can now be used to monitor discrepancies and security at polling stations.
