Bihar's Dr. Ambedkar Seva Abhiyan Provides 145 Electricity Connections to Dalit Hamlets

Dr. Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan was launched with the objective of building infrastructure in Dalit hamlets and developing them further. This campaign ran from Baba Saheb's birth anniversary on 14 April to 17 May. Under this, a total of 7284 camps were set up in Dalit hamlets of all 38 districts. A total of 450 applications were received for getting electricity connection. Out of these, electricity connection has been provided on 145 applications, while 305 applications are under process.
Out of these, the highest number of 71 applications have been received from Muzaffarpur district. Immediate action has been taken on 12 applications, while the process of providing electricity connection to 57 is underway. Similarly, 5 out of 10 applications received in Araria, 3 out of 14 applications received in Aurangabad, 8 out of 15 applications received in Banka, 10 out of 14 applications received in Darbhanga, 10 out of 14 applications received in East Champaran, 4 out of 23 applications received in Gopalganj, 19 out of 21 applications received in Kaimur, 5 out of 20 applications received in Madhubani, 3 out of 14 applications received in Nalanda, 1 out of 20 applications received in Saran, 22 out of 51 applications received in Siwan and 3 out of 24 applications received in Vaishali have been given electricity connection immediately. Among these, there are several districts of the state where not a single application for electricity connection has been received from Dalit tolas. Such districts include Jehanabad, Khagaria and Purnia.
