Bihar's Rs 287.52 Crore SDRF Headquarters at Bihta Nears Completion with Modern Training Facilities

The construction of permanent structures is in the advanced stage in the campus of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Corps Headquarters at Bihta, Patna. A modern SDRF Headquarters and Training Centre is being constructed by the Building Construction Department at a cost of Rs 287.52 crore on a 25-acre plot at Dilawarpur in Bihta.
The construction of administrative building, quarter master store, barracks, officers mess, sub-ordinate officers mess, commandant and deputy commandant residences, head constable, constable, followers residence, hostel, dining hall, QRT building, and training block has been completed in the campus.
In addition, the work of auditorium cum fitness centre, doctor residence, inspector and sub-inspector residences is also going on at a fast pace. A modern national-level swimming pool is also being built for flood relief training, which will provide expertise in disaster management to the jawans. The SDRF headquarters will have residential facilities as well as a world-class training centre for the jawans. Secretary of Building Construction Department, Mr. Kumar Ravi informed that the construction of most of the buildings in the SDRF headquarters complex has been completed and the remaining work is targeted to be completed by July 2025. He said that this project will further strengthen Bihar's preparedness in disaster management. Regular inspection and monitoring of the work site is being done to ensure quality and timeliness.
At present, the SDRF headquarters is operating temporarily in Dilawarpur, Bihta. In the absence of a training center, the jawans have to go to other states for training, which leads to waste of time and resources. The construction of this new headquarters will not only solve this problem but will also make quick and effective action possible in disaster management.
The goal of this project is not limited to only a modern training center but it also aims to train local communities in disaster management. Which will take Bihar's capacity to new heights in disaster management
