Bihar's Startup Scheme Disburses ₹62.5 Crore as Registration Reaches 1,522

The Bihar government's Startup Scheme is proving to be very helpful in making people of all classes and communities self-reliant by providing them self-employment. The attraction towards it is increasing rapidly. According to the information received from the Industry Department, so far 1 thousand 522 startups have been registered. Under this, an amount of Rs 62 crore 50 lakh has been distributed. Apart from women entrepreneurs, the number of entrepreneurs from Scheduled Caste / Tribe category is also considerable. Additional assistance has also been given to some start-ups. In this, additional financial assistance of Rs 13 lakh 30 thousand has also been provided.

Due to the rapid increase in the number of startups in the state, Bihar is moving away from the image of an agricultural state and is also being created with a new look of innovation and entrepreneurship. The number of start-ups is also increasing rapidly in rural areas. Due to this scheme of the Industry Department, the spirit of entrepreneurship has been encouraged among the youth.

A holistic mechanism has been created under Startup Bihar at the department level, which provides support to start-ups at all stages from their inception to its establishment and expansion of business. Particularly the participation of youth, women and some traditionally neglected communities has also increased in it. It is also an indicator of change in the socio-economic scenario of the state.

The Bihar Startup Policy was launched in the year 2017, which aims to promote innovation and startup activities in the state. Keeping in mind the changing entrepreneurial landscape and local needs, the government changed it and implemented the Bihar Startup Policy 2022. The new policy is more inclusive, effective and faster implementation.

The main objective of this policy is to create a favorable environment for startups by utilizing the talent of the youth of the state. To make Bihar the first choice of startups, investors and other stakeholders. So that the overall development of the state can be accelerated. The Department of Industries is empowering the culture of innovation by organizing various programs, awards and campaigns related to it.

Industry Minister Nitish Mishra says that to promote start-ups, all kinds of collaborative work is being done, from incentives at various levels. From promoting innovation of youth to brainstorming on all the proposals under this, every kind of assistance is provided for its implementation. This is promoting self-employment. Youth are getting help in giving shape to their meaningful imagination
