Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Inspects Rs 3,200 Crore Sherpur-Dighwara Ganga Bridge Construction

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inspected the under construction 6 lane Sherpur-Dighwara Ganga Bridge. During this, he inspected the site in Sherpur and took information about the construction work. The Chief Minister also visited the site and inspected the ongoing bridge construction work on the Ganga River. During the inspection, the officials told the Chief Minister that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Government of India is constructing a 6 lane Ganga bridge on the Ganga River at a cost of Rs 3200 crore. This bridge goes from Sherpur in Patna district to Dighwara in Saran district. The length of this bridge is 14.52 km. This bridge will also serve as the ring road of Patna city.
The construction work of the bridge is likely to be completed by 2027. During the inspection, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to complete the construction work of this 6 lane Ganga bridge being built between Sherpur and Dighwara at a fast pace. JP Ganga Path is also being constructed from below this 6 lane bridge towards the Patna end. This 6 lane bridge will also be connected to Bihta Sarmera road. After completion of construction of this bridge, connectivity between North Bihar and South Bihar will become easier. Along with this, people of western end of Patna will also get convenience in going from one place to another. Being a part of Patna Ring Road, it will be easy for people to travel in all four directions of the capital.
During the inspection, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary of Road Construction Department Mr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudukalkatti, Secretary of Road Construction Department B. Karthikeya Dhanji, Special Officer to Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, District Magistrate of Patna Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police of Patna Mr. Avkash Kumar, officers and engineers of National Highway Authority of India were present.
