CM Nitish Kumar Hails Padma Awards for Bihar's Finest

Patna:Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday expressed his delight over the Centre's announcement of Padma awards for several eminent personalities from the state. The awardees include Bihar Kokila Late Sharda Sinha, who will receive the Padma Vibhushan, and Late Sushil Kumar Modi, who will be conferred the Padma Bhushan.


CM Nitish Kumar congratulated the awardees and their families, saying that the recognition is a testament to their outstanding contributions to their respective fields. "It is a matter of great pride for Bihar that our state's sons and daughters have been recognized for their excellence," Kumar said.


The Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian honour, will be awarded to Late Sharda Sinha, a legendary figure in the field of art. Sinha's contributions to Bihar's cultural heritage are immeasurable, and this recognition is a fitting tribute to her enduring legacy.


The Padma Bhushan will be conferred upon Late Sushil Kumar Modi, a veteran public servant who dedicated his life to the welfare of the people. Modi's tireless efforts to improve the lives of Biharis have not gone unnoticed, and this award is a testament to his selfless service.


In addition to Sinha and Modi, several other notable personalities from Bihar will receive the Padma Shri award. These include Late Acharya Kishore Kunal, a distinguished civil servant; Shri Bhim Singh Bhavesh, a social worker; Dr. Hemant Kumar, a medical professional; Smt. Nirmala Devi, an accomplished artist; and Shri Vijay Nityananda Surishwar Ji Maharaj, a spiritual leader.
